Woah thats a big jump, and an exceptional GT. How was your gillies modified?

Haha. It was alot heavier built aswell. I had added a 5 cm long white and brown feather to my treble with the addition on some gold and silver tinsil. I was planning on it catching a yellow tail king fish but this Gt will do

Well done Jayde, that is a monster man. Mine pulled hard, I could only imagine what that was like to pull up. Nice idea about the mods to. Race to the 80+ haha

That Gt was just unlucky because that lure was on a 40lb Fluro leader,30lb braid with a 5000 reel and 10-30lb rod which was intended for some kings. He didn’t stand a chance. Hopefully we will have that 80cm Gt by the weekend.

Nice Mackerel Andy, I still haven’t got one of those myself though there has been a few around.

I’ll leave the race to 80 to you fella’s, right now I’m more interested in a 80cm Tarpon, I know they are out there…

Jayde, what time/where/how often did the fish come up on sun day arvo?  I’m try to update the GT tracking for this week.

Craig the gt’s came up twice yesterday. Once around the beacon directly east from wavebreak north wall for approx. 2-3 mins. Then came up again around the tip of wavebreak north wall for approx. the same amount of time. There were plenty of kingfish feeding from wavebreak north to the next set of markers as well. The king fish were feeding far more regularly than the gt’s were.

Andy did you get that yesterday afternoon after we took off? Nice work. Sounds like there were no more busts ups.

Howard those Kingfish were feeding actively weren’t they. I got busted, my 2000 just kept screaming and had no chance and that was with a gillies baitfish which I was very surprised as last week I threw the same lure at them and not one reaction. Its a case of always saying ‘I wish I threw my heavier rod” lol.
