Had a proper 24/7 chassis repair shop sort out my Wrangler’s alignment in Musaffah

I’ve been having a nightmare with my Wrangler pulling to the left ever since I took it out to Sweihan last month. I took it to two different garages in Abu Dhabi for wheel alignment, but the issue kept coming back, and I could feel it was something more than just a simple camber or toe adjustment. A mate who runs a recovery service told me to stop messing about and get the chassis checked properly, because if the frame is even slightly tweaked, no amount of alignment will fix it, and it’ll just eat through tyres. I ended up finding a shop in Musaffah that deals specifically with 4×4 chassis repairs and has proper measuring equipment, and they were actually open late, which helped with my schedule. They put the car on a jig, took measurements, and showed me exactly where the mounting points had shifted slightly from a hard landing. They managed to straighten it out on the spot and re-torqued all the suspension bolts to spec, which the other garages completely overlooked. I later found out they also offer a 24/7 Jeep chassis repair shop in Musaffah for emergency jobs, though mine wasn’t that urgent in the end. The difference in how the car drives now is unreal, straight as an arrow and no more wandering on the highway. If you’ve got a persistent alignment issue that won’t stay fixed, definitely get the chassis checked before you waste more money on tyre wear and alignments.

How many km on the Wrangler, and did the tyres show uneven wear before this? Also, was the pull constant or only under braking? Curious what the bill came to, since chassis jobs seem to range wildly depending on what’s actually bent.

Not sure “straightened on the spot” is how I’d describe frame work. If the mounting points had actually moved, I’d want the measurement sheets and to know whether anything got pulled or replaced. Did they give you a written report, and is there a warranty on the work?

Re-torquing suspension bolts to spec is a bigger deal than people think. After off-road use, loose or stretched bolts let the axle shift under load and the alignment drifts. On a Wrangler it’s also worth checking the track bar and control arm bushings for ovalised holes.

Had a JK pull left after a rough off-road trip and two alignments didn’t hold. A bent track bar bracket was the cause, and the fix was a lot cheaper than I feared. Next time I’d put it on a lift and check for damage before paying for another alignment.

Alignment that keeps coming back after a hard landing is usually bent or worn parts, not the settings. Control arms, track bar mounts and bushings take the hit first. Good that they showed you the measurements, since a printout before and after is the proof that matters.
