Is that all, I lost 4 jigs lol.
Thinking about giving away jigging now.
I ended up with 18 GT’s, Big eyes,
Kept 10 for the table & 2 mates,
Got done big time by a local Kingy, the reel was smoking & the bastard got my best jig.
CnR 5 Queenies, but buggered if I can catch a bloody Pike
Before this gets out of hand and people start getting defensive…..
SeawayFishing has always danced a fine line between enough and too much info(I have been abused and had death threats because of the information I have provided along the way), and between those who fish for a feed and those who fish catch and release. I have always supported the right for people to take fish for the table(according to the regs), that said as a catch and release fisherman myself I also understand the distress of those who see eskies with dead fish.
Ultimately the seaway manages it’s own fish and ensures that although many fish may be caught in a short period of time it won’t last for long. Tides change and fish move on, I would be very surprised if the catches continue past the weekend. 99% of the fish that pass through the seaway never even get hooked and that will not change anytime soon.
Pro netting in the broadwater kills many more fish than a few good catches by those fishing for the table. Until that is removed we have bigger things to worry about.
I was in the twin hull 3.8 tinny with the 30hp Suzuki.
I was mostly fishing in close to the Marine rescue till I got muscled out after re rigging lol.
I lost 4 jigs on the pipe that day for a total cost of $50 lol.
Then I found this really cheap slug that I bought from a servo years ago, got them for 4 lures for $5.
lol. it out fished the micro jigs lol.
I will be heading back out Wednesday to hopefully get among a few more Gt’s with a mate who has never caught anything bigger than an under sized bream & then after that I’m going to start targeting Seaway Kings since I hooked one on the jigs & it totally smoked me & stole my favorite Jig.
Sorry if you felt muscled out i didnt mean to…That was me you asked how i was going and at that stage i had only got one. It wasnt till i changed slugs to a heavier weight and was able to get to the bottom that i started to get them every drift…
