Skoda battery options in AD seem nonexistent and I’m tired of calling around
Honestly didn’t think finding a replacement battery for my wife’s Skoda Octavia would turn into such a mission but here I am on a Thursday afternoon having called four different shops and gotten four different answers ranging from “we don’t stock that size” to “just bring it in and we’ll see what fits” which doesn’t exactly inspire confidence when you’re dealing with a car that has stop start and probably needs the battery management system reset or whatever complicated procedure these VW group cars demand just for a simple swap. The old one has been in there since the car was new and with this Abu Dhabi summer it’s starting to crank like it’s giving up on life and I’d rather replace it now than have my wife stuck somewhere with the kids and a car that won’t start because I was too lazy to sort it out properly. I was doing some digging and found a service that lists Skoda vehicle battery replacement Abu Dhabi specifically which is a relief because half the shops I called didn’t even know what a Skoda was and tried to sell me a battery for a Toyota instead like they’re all the same thing and I’m not about to let some random guy guess the wrong amp hour rating and then act surprised when the car throws a bunch of electrical warnings a week later. Anyone actually own a Skoda out here and found a place that stocks the right battery and knows what they’re doing or am I going to have to drive to Dubai just for this because that would be the most Skoda ownership experience ever honestly.
