Just like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe new year..
Hit the seaway on Sunday night for one 70cm jew, a metre Bull shark and a few big eye trevs..
Probable 2 hr into the run in tide around 1am there were bust up’s happening all around me. I could see on the sounder massive schools of bait fish coming through and every minute or so a bust up somewhere near me.
Flung out a lure that I had been using around the bridge for pike and sml tailor, which I didn’t get any of, and 2nd cast im onto a 40cm Big eye, which was fun on 6lb string. ended up with another 2 around the same size…
The bully, which I first thought may have been a jew from the head shakes, took a dead herring off the bottom, and the Jewie snaffled up a live herring around 2.30am.
Apart from that it was a pleasant night out with a water temp of 26.6 1st 1/4 moon.
Cheers Wayno, Merry Christmas to you too mate and all seaway fishos.
Great report and plenty of action there. I haven’t fished the seaway lately as have been focusing on the spotty mackerel. Been to Palmy (via Currumbin) and Mermaid a few times, getting a few some days and other days quiet. I hear they’ve started to show just off the seaway. Will be trying to get out over the xmas madness for some seaway action too.
