Found a V8 Escalade that hasn’t been used as a limo and now I’m paranoid about the magnetic ride
I stumbled across a 2017 Escalade Platinum that genuinely looks like it spent its entire life being babied in some villa garage in Arabian Ranches and not shuttling tourists between the airport and Atlantis, the interior still smells new and the mileage is shockingly low for the year, but the one thing that’s been stuck in the back of my mind since the test drive is this faint little clunk I heard going over a speed hump near the Greens and I can’t tell if that’s just normal big truck noises or the beginning of a very expensive magnetic ride control shock failure. I’ve been a Toyota guy my whole life so I’m completely out of my league when it comes to American luxury SUVs and all the active suspension wizardry they’ve got going on, and the seller just shrugged and said “it’s always made that sound” which didn’t exactly fill me with confidence. I started poking around online and saw a few mentions that Cadillac Vehicle Inspection Dubai Experts can plug into the chassis module and check the damper calibration values and also spot any pending codes for the active fuel management system which apparently likes to act up in our heat. I’m not trying to be that guy who shows up to a private sale with a whole forensic team but I also don’t want to find out in August that replacing one shock costs more than a month’s rent, anyone here actually own one of these big Caddies out here and know if I’m just being paranoid about the suspension or if that clunk is the sound of my future self crying in a service center waiting room.
