First Longtail!

Caught my first Longtail in the Southern bay on Good Friday, went 1m fork length.

Stoked! 😀

Great fish mate. That longtail would have given you abit of curry, what gear did you get him on?

My bro and I hit Hervey bay over the long weekend and landed mac tuna, longtail tuna, spotties and schoolies. Most on slugs and some on stickbaits. The tuna are running very hard up there at the moment. Sizes were mainly between 80cm – 90cm. Great fun and really good if you wanna test your gear out.

Cheers guys! Kane it was on a Tairyo Mega Speed 6-8kg matched to a 4000 Sustain with 30lb Berkley Whiplash and 30lb Black Magic fluro leader. I had the drag on a little lose for my first, I’ll have it tighter next time and really put some hurt on them! Never fished Hervey Bay before,  some mates have and loved it!
