Before this gets out of hand and people start getting defensive…..
SeawayFishing has always danced a fine line between enough and too much info(I have been abused and had death threats because of the information I have provided along the way), and between those who fish for a feed and those who fish catch and release. I have always supported the right for people to take fish for the table(according to the regs), that said as a catch and release fisherman myself I also understand the distress of those who see eskies with dead fish.
Ultimately the seaway manages it’s own fish and ensures that although many fish may be caught in a short period of time it won’t last for long. Tides change and fish move on, I would be very surprised if the catches continue past the weekend. 99% of the fish that pass through the seaway never even get hooked and that will not change anytime soon.
Pro netting in the broadwater kills many more fish than a few good catches by those fishing for the table. Until that is removed we have bigger things to worry about.
