Apart from the space it takes up whats the thinking behind the short handle on the landing net?
Wayno, cutting the handle down was actually the first thing I did with the net, the reason was because it got in the way. I always net my fish myself so I’m usually doing it one handed, once an environet is in the water its nearly impossible to move so the best way is to hold it just above the water until the fish is close then shove the net in and swim the fish instantly into it. Fish are always netted right next to the boat and the longer handle made things much more difficult.
