Thought you might find this interesting, some footage from the underwater tests I have been doing with my gopro. The end goal for this is to see whats showing up on your sounder but won't bite and getting an underwater view of fish feeding on the surface.

some good fotage there craig we should design a bracket to fit in front of the go pro with bait on it to see how differnt fish take a bait
would be quite interesting to watch
on a side note do you have trouble reading your sounder at speed
cause it looked to me on your video that when your driving your getting air bubbles over your transducer
cheers bob
I’ll be trying that bob, having a bait in front of the camera will be interesting, the fish don’t seem to be too bothered by the mount or the camera itself. having a live yellowtail in front of the camera would be very interesting. As for the sounder, I usually only get problems just after I come off the plane, and only about 30 seconds or so.
Wayno, The camera itself is inside a protective case just like the towcam, there’s always the chance of getting it stuck on a rock but there’s no reward without risk after all.
thanks wayno
i am more of a bait man i try hards and soft plastics but after a few cast,s if i dont get a hit i get bored and go back to bait
yet i can watch it for hours doing nothing go figure
That’s some awesome footage, would work really well with a down rigger and having ya bait floating infront to get some good hit footage, keep up the good work Craig
