Fished with Peter and John aboard John's new boat, a Surtees cuddy cabin. Weather was 15kts SE with a 1m SE swell, rough around the end of the north wall but the bigger boat handled it nicely, a couple of bigeye's out the front but not much else. Spotted some bigeyes feeding on surface around the pipeline, a bit tricky to get into casting range but I managed to land 1 around 55cm. They went down about 15 minutes later. Did some edge casting for zip then headed offshore to look at the bait reefs but the wind made it too difficult to fish there. Headed inside and did some bait fishing in the broadwater, Pete managed a moray about 2 metres long but that was pretty much it. Off the water around 9am. Interesting to fish the seaway in a larger boat, while the cabin made lure casting a bit difficult it was very capable in water that would have been too rough for my polycraft 410.
