Hey guys! Just wondering how you all vary on fishing these king tides compared to the more moderate and slower tides I just seem to get a bit lost after the tide starts speeding up on which method to use and on which fish to target excluding edge fishing. Don’t know wether it’s a physiological thing with the water racing under you but I’d much rather fish the slower tides. Thanks JETHRO
Look away from the strongest current flow and you’ll find the fish, an example would be the north wall, look about 100m east of the end of the wall and you’ll probably find schools of fish sitting on the bottom. During king tides there is no significant eddy on a run in tide so wait until the tide slows near the top of the tide and the fish should come on the bite. You can also look around the flats areas in the broadwater, high tidal flows are loved by GT’s and Kingfish. You can also try sinking some metal or plastics along current lines. There is lots of opportunities, I might do a post on it later on down the track.
