Fished the pipe high tide at 6.30pm tonight with 400 other boats. No success but got this sounding as soon as the tide slowed. Anybody help me out to what it all means???? Was empty while run in. No one seemed to be catching much.
The fish probably just went for a swim while there was no tidal flow, in times of high flow if they aren’t feeding they tend to stick to the edges so you probably wouldn’t have seen them on the sounder.
Wayno is right, your sounder sensitivity is too high, it should look like this
Craig you should ban us newbies like me to only one article until we master that. The 5 lure article and where to be when with what. I’ve read most posts, they are fascinatingly detailed, but have ended up with information addiction! Think I have read more than I should have.
Will check the sounder as I haven’t touched since I bought the boat, so turn the gain down ok.
Exactly that is what it is the sensitivity as i worked a long time ago as i went on a info spree on sounders and learnt a heap about them and Craig helped me as well when on a tutorial
Anyway haven’t done a post on here for a long time but have still kept reading what is going on
Going out in the morning early anyone got a quiet spot to drop a line with the family and not sitting at the end the seaway as it will be a bit windy tomorrow it looks like
We went out today, my son wanted to get a few bream. No wind early and massive schools of some sort of baitfish jumping out everywhere. Saw a couple of fish on the north wall but we had no luck. No boats this morning, it was great weather…..until we got blown to caloundra. One Boat got a 65cm snapper chasing bream but didn’t see to much going on. Rough offshore and all those poor buggers going out whale watching!
