Wow, imagine that, surfers paddling across the seaway got hit by a boat on saturday.
Moral of the story is…If you do hit one of those idiotic surfers, don’t run off.
A local boatie has been charged for allegedly running down two surfers and leaving them to swim for help in the Gold Coast Seaway.
The pair was struck by the boat at around 8am on Saturday, with one being taken to hospital with lacerations to his leg.
The boat failed to stop, sparking a search of the nearby estuaries by Gold Coast Water Police.
A man was later arrested and is expected to face court later this month.
He is blaming glare on the water for his inability to spot the surfers paddling in the water.
He was also a surfer ,apparently the police circled his boat while he was surfing until he paddled out to see what the problem was! Then they towed his boat away
Well that says alot about surfers. Haven’t seen you out on the water for a while shamus, no problems I hope.
All is well thanks Craig, flat out between work and family commitments.cant wait to find some fishing time ,the sooner the better!!!
